Dr. David L. Buchanan graduated from Princeton University and the University of Colorado School Of Medicine. He completed an externship in Cardiology at the Royal Infirmary in Edinburg, Scotland. He completed General Surgery training at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara and the Maricopa County General Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, where he was Chief Resident his senior year. He completed an additional residency in Plastic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where he again served as Chief Resident. He was selected to represent the Division of Plastic Surgery on a multi-program cleft lip/cleft palate surgical mission to the Philippines. He has published scientific articles in the medical journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Buchanan is a Diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the California Society of Plastic Surgeons, the California Medical Association and the Santa Barbara County Medical Society. |

Giana Miller is a certified aesthetician and front office coordinator. She counsels and treats patients for various skin care needs. Among her amazing services are facials, chemical peels, and microdermabrasion. She also answers general surgery questions, coordinates surgical procedures and arranges for aftercare.

Dr. Buchanan is assisted by a board-certified anesthesiologist to ensure patient comfort and safety. A separate recovery area is used for careful postoperative observation prior to patient discharge. Our staff is committed to providing high quality outpatient surgery that is safe, economical, and convenient.

Office Hours
The Santa Barbara Plastic Surgery Center in California is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All patients are seen by appointment.
If we experience an unanticipated delay that may require a change in your scheduled appointment, we will contact you. If you must reschedule an appointment, please call and let us know as far in advance as possible.
Availability
Dr. Buchanan and staff members are available 24 hours a day for our patients, should a need arise.

From Hwy. 101 North bound: Exit Pueblo Street, right on Pueblo one block to Oak Park.
From Hwy. 101 South bound: Exit Mission Street, left on Mission. Left on Castillo.
